Traveling with lower back pain always takes a lot of planning and preparation. Because I never know how chronic pain will affect my day-to-day, I have to over-prepare for everything. I always bring more pain medication than I think I’ll need, as well as a lumbar support pillow.

4. Packing List – Creating a packing list is crucial for me. I usually forget things at the last moment, and that’s why I prepare myself with a list so I don’t miss important stuff. This helps me avoid overpacking and ensures that I have everything I need.
5. Itinerary – I also create an itinerary for my trips, with plenty of downtimes built in. This allows me to pace myself and ensure I’m not doing too much activity that could aggravate my pain.
6. Comfort Kit- I always have difficulty traveling without my comfort kit. I pack everything necessary, from heat wraps, soothing creams, and cold packs. Heat wraps and cold packs help me when I have severe cervical pain or back pain while traveling. It soothes my muscles and gives instant relief.
7. Planning – I plan a week before I am ready to go on a trip or business meetings. I don’t like taking stress and anxiety during my travel time; it usually makes my pain even worse. I like to travel only when I finish my urgent and essential work.
8. Sleep mask – Sleep and staying hydrated are crucial while traveling. It’s tough to sleep while I am traveling due to motion sickness, but magic sleep mask helps me fall asleep in minutes. Not taking enough sleep enhances the intensity of my pain, so I don’t compromise my sleep while traveling.
